Hong Kong Future Pioneers (HKFP), formerly named Hong Kong Young Leaders’ Congress (HKYLC), has been organised since 2003 by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Outstanding Students’ Union (HKSAROSU), as our flagship event.

With the programme theme “How to Shape Our Future Hong Kong?”, HKFP allows participants to express and share their distinctive viewpoints with other students in certain areas of the fundamental elements comprising our future Hong Kong. With the main concept of “Learn from Professionals. Work with Community.”, we aim to broaden our participants’ horizons, sharpen their leadership qualities, and help them appreciate the differences among a community through a series of interactive workshops, lectures, visits, field trips and conferences by related professionals and experts. We would publicise our programme through social platforms on the Internet and media so as to gain public’s attention on our discussion topic. It had gained tremendous support and positive response from different sectors.

Theme of 2014
“Social Justice, Stand Up for Hong Kong”

It is an indisputable fact that in Hong Kong life chances are unequal. Recent Gini Coefficient has revealed that Hong Kong is the place where wealth is the most unevenly distributed among all developed economic structures. While enjoying the benefits of the skyrocketing economic as the privileged majority, we may be unaware that the minorities who have congenitally lower competitiveness are still struggling to climb up the social ladder.

Aiming to inspire our future pioneers, we wish to raise their awareness on the unbalanced status quo of society and thus stimulate their actions. Through a series of workshops, we anticipate participants to develop a deeper consciousness of the issue and to engage in a synergistic exchange of ideas with social elites. The following hands‐on experiences, including a simulation camp, a social campaign and an exhibition will allow participants to study the issue in‐depth and reflect upon the current circumstance. Through these we hope to nurture bright minds to help shape a better future for our Hong Kong.
