1.   Meeting called to order

The 12th General Meeting was called to order by the President at 1730.

 

2.   To pass the minutes of the 11th General Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting was passed without any further amendments.

 

 

A. Daily Operations

3.   OSU Webpage

Nathan Kung reported that the administration fee for the webpage had been paid.

 

4.  Society Registration

Sunny Wong had asked for the progress of the registration, and he was told that the application would be processed next week.

 

5.  Financial Account 2009

Kenneth Chan reported that everything had been settled for the 2009 OSU financial account.

 

6. Financial Account 2010

Cathy Wong reported that there is currently $20 cash in the OSU account.

 

 

B. Activities

7. CE/AL SMS

Polly Yu reported that SMS had been sent to OSU members taking the CE exam and one reply had been received.

 

8.  Internal Gathering

It was agreed that the 2nd Internal Gathering would be postponed to August.

 

9.  Outstanding Students Selection (OSS) 2010

A.  Media Conference

Connie Law and Yandy Chan will be attending the media conference on 15 May.

 

B.  Timeline

12 June: Screening of writings submitted

26 June: Semi final  (20 finalists will be selected)

3-4 July: Orientation Camp  (CUHK as campsite)

10 July: Final

15-19 July: Trip  (3 Ex-Co members can join the tour)

24 July: Prizing Ceremony

 

 

10.  HKYLC 2010

A.  Evaluation

Some mentors commented that there was not enough time for debriefing in workshop 1 and 2.

The games designed may sometime side-track the participants and the message may fail to be delivered to participants. 

There were not enough mentors in general and participants might get confused easily without their guidance.

B.  Workshop 3  (3 July)

Fung Kin-kee will be holding one of the lectures in workshop 3.

CUHK Law Society will invite the other speaker for the lecture on Media.

 

C.  Workshop 4 and 5  (10, 17 July)

Focus: Congress Technique (Debate, presentation skills, posture, etc.)

 

D. Congress Camp  (29 July - 1 Aug)

Day 1: Settle down, mini games

Day 2: Full day preparation

Day 3: Congress

Day 4: Closing ceremony

E.  Marketing

Yandy Chan reported that the cheque from MUJI will soon be received.

 

A thankyou letter will be mailed to the teachers responsible and the MUJI logo will be included in the letter.

 

F.  Publication

An extra 26 T-shirts had been ordered.

 

G.  Administration

There were 18 invalid cheques in total and they would need to be resent before 16 May.

 

H.  Mentors

Kenneth Chan would confirm the availability with the mentors and amendments to the groupings would be made accordingly.
